Agenda

everyone has an agenda
your words
not mine
yet I offered
my friendship
no strings attached
still
you thought
there was a price
I gave you my trust
something you earned
my life
was in your hands
you held it
kept it safe
you protected me
an unexpected turn
was there an agenda then?
if there was
it wasn't mine
I offered my friendship freely
everything else took time m.j.r. 2008 (c)
