Age Is Cruel

Age draws closer don't you see, And it has found a home in me. I first felt its awesome power, When I could not tell the hour. Age took inches from my arms, And I can no longer read my poems Without some type of visual aid, And somehow now I feel betrayed. I am now wearing glasses, And as time slowly passes, I see new wrinkles on my face; I do, because I now wear glasses. Oh age how cruel you are!

Donna, thank you. I read your poem recipe for life and it was better than my recipe for happiness.

Love the witty irony in the last line, Carlos. I also find your style of versifying quite to my liking. Keep up the good work. Best to you./ M
