Age

Age. It's a state of the heart. It doesn't define who I am Nor does it place limitations on my love. Age. Such a nasty word! I hate when someone asks me, "How old are you?" as if they know more about me because of a number. You knew less about me when you asked to place a numerical value behind my name. It's all the same. You can't decide what you want so you place blame on my age. You live in a cage constrained by the world's standards. I am young! Young at heart and that's where you should start! Just think of the possibilities of you and me and our eternity! It's like counting the starfish in the ocean. There's no limits to where the ocean's waves can carry us--infinity. Serenity is a potion that I drink every day. It's like a sweetener in my coffee. It lightens my load and I am told that I look like I could live forever!

I'm trying to catch up on the poets I enjoy reading...pant...pant...pant I don't think that I'll ever reach the end, not today anyhow.:) Love this write, and don't like much when someone asks my age.:( My mom used to say she was older than her teeth and the same age as her tongue. "Serenity is a potion", I think I'll sweeten my coffee with it as well. Keep well, hugs, Mikki

I love the last verse! Serenity in my coffee! As far as age goes it seems to be increasing in a fast pace! You seem like someone who lives life to the fullest! I enjoyed the read!
