Agape Love- Not Polarity
Agape – Christ-like love -
is not too easy to live,
especially today
in these difficult times
when polarity of opinions reigns supreme!
Siblings against siblings;
long-time friends turning against
their long-time friends.
A sign of the times?
End times coming?
It’s not hard to imagine this
when the hearts of those
whom we suppose should love us most
are hardening against us
simply for the fact
we do not think the same!
Agape loves those who oppose us.
Agape loves those we find
undeserving of our love.
But none in God’s eyes
are undeserving of His Agape love.
We cannot hate those we find imperfect
when we ourselves
can never perfect be!
True charity and compassion
are needed more than ever now
in these trying times.
Only when we love
by having respect for
every nation, race, and tongue
can we ever find peace in this world.
And only when we forgive others
do we show ourselves worthy
of our Lord’s own forgiveness of US.
Agape love is difficult!
Practice kindness every day,
and it will become easier and easier
to live it!
For the sake of our future generations;
for the sake of our entire global community,
we must learn to practice
Agape.
