Again

I dreamt again of you last night
 You looked exactly the same
Your eyes full of passion burning so bright
And we laughed together until the morning came

It feels so real when you are there
Like the years have not come to pass
The cards we were dealt were not fair
And our hearts fed to wolves of the mass

I miss the sound of your laughter
And the big smile I used to bring to your face
I thought in the end a happy ever after
But that just wouldn't be the case

I know by now you don't look as I imagine
That time has changed us both
You, a person i was never to abandon
I wanted nothing more than to swear my oath

How much has changed since our days of youth
We have both found others to eas the pain
Only in this poem can I finally speak the truth
That in my heart you shall forever remain
