Afternoon Thoughts On December 22nd

You see I'm unable to fathom what you did and you said I saw love but I felt pain And for years on the presence of others It's all the same Confidently you uttered the words of assurance "I'm different from them. I am not like them." And of course my heart danced As I remember those moments I listened to the pounding inside our chests Echoed in the air of silence I resent the lost chances I should've shouted Loud and clear what I really felt It could've gone off easily if I did, maybe If you heard my cries You could've apologised Or will you apologise? For you to ask forgiveness Is my hope for vengeance
