Afternoon Rain

As I sit and look out,
I hear the soft cadence
of dripping eaves as
afternoon fades from the sky.

I’m completely mesmerized by the gentle sound,
and the slow, methodical raindrops sliding down
the splattered windowpane…
     ...as twilight comes with more gentle rain...

Forgive me, I have to read "Ghost Horses" when I've more time. So much to do, so many people to annoy. THIS is amazing, I know the sound, the feel, but don't think I've ever wrapped it up and delivered it as you beautifully did! Trying would be a fun word challenge, but I'd be tempted to cheat and peek here (kidding) (1st typed 'kissing') Poetry hugs ... CayCay
