Afternoon Delight

Fill up the tin on the back porch swing
with rainwater lilies and daisies
Set out the blanket out past the thicket
grasshopper's tuning up lazy
Baskets of raspberries staining containers
ready to swim in champagne
Sun about bursting so swollen with pride
Clouds about doing the same
Pine needles sweeten the taste buds for eating
Hummingbird shadows like bees
Music and artistry of our Creator
bringing us down to our knees.
