Afterlife

Afterlife

They came
Men with sharp axes
chopped down
the old oak.
It`s shadow
stood there
out of habit.
At Sundown
it disappeared.

Love your poem. I think some of the best poems are short. Not just for being short, though. The great challenge is to create the best image or convey a message in the fewest words possible. You have succeeded.
