After the Revolution
What shall we keep after the revolution?
Lies, yes survival lies, state sanctioned lies.
lies about yesterday and tomorrow
and how we will or have overcome.
Chocolate and oxycontin factories must be kept
on a war footing.
State owned coffee house for state owed employees.
We will follow the science
accepting at last
that Alzheimer’s is natural, safe
and should never be treated
unless there are signs of recovery.
Happiness points will be allotted
according to those exhibiting
a myopic tendency to laugh at nothing at all.
Of course, Tesla electric vehicles
must be preserved and replenished
for those in dire need of a symbolic existence.
We will need more suitcases
production must be stepped up
for the new cash only economy,
while breadlines will be
considered a patriotic and legitimate form
of outdoor exercise.
We will need bicycles; one for every five families
should do.
There will be no need for fossil fuels
there are bound to be many books to burn
even when we run out of history books.
In short for every bovine fart
an angel will fall dead
confirming our inbred cultural deviancy;
those infantile hopes feeding still
the dreams of a misguided proletariat;
a large section of our overpopulated land
shortly to be turned into a much needed glue
in order to hold together our glorious future.
