After the Accident

After The Accident

Not that the days are any longer you see
I rise in time for work
and its not that the hours contain any more seconds than before
no
the sun is the same as are clouds on different days
yet the weeks have gone
and I can’t remember what I have done in the blur

But the minutes edge by with dragging momentum
and the hours of sleep are over too soon
when I wake to find that the clock has lied yet again
its only tomorrow not next week or next year
but today
tomorrow has snuck up and followed yesterdays quick eternity

And here I am presented with another long day
not that the days are any longer
or that the hours contain anymore seconds
its just that with each passing moment that I think of you
I miss you all the more

I know Colin, life goes on somehow the same, after we lose someone. And somehow, it just doesn't seem right. And it is difficult to miss someone even more, with every passing day. Once again, so sorry for your loss. Love, Shar

This is truly heartbreaking. I can relate more than you know. Excellent poem, thanks for sharing. Tom
