After Midnight

After midnight the moon dims down low As the stars take center stage Filling the sky glamorously And the creatures of the night Come out from hiding Using the stars as their nightlight My lover meets me under the willow tree With a candle in one hand and a rose in the other As breath-taking as the quiet early morn. After midnight
