After

After all the makeup, The hair and latest fashion, After all the dinners And sleeping on sheets of satin. After all the weight loss And removing of the grey, The cream that claims the wrinkles Will eventually fade away. After all the gossip Of friends old and new, After all the vows are made To be friends forever true. After homes are paid for And driving cars brand new, What is left for us What is left to do. After that last vacation When we can't take it anymore, As we finally close the curtains And last time lock the door. Who will sit beside us And who will hold us close For sure it is a stranger That will care the most. Lynn Barany
