African Queen Goddess

She was ultra-exquisite
More than comfortable in her skin
She wore herself with pride
Not braggadocio, confident

Understanding rationale for showing her best self
so those who followed would have a fair chance
to also live their truth
Not braggadocio, confident

She was an African queen,
a nurturing mother,
a woman with a mission
Not braggadocio, confident

Hmmm...and I have known several in my lifetime. You made me think of Maya Angelou with this poem, Caren.

I am glad that you did; she was one of a kind
