Afflicted Woman of Intellect
An intricate mug and saucer sit delicately upon the unread book-
She raises her head, glasses rest gently on the bridge of her nose
One may call her an intellectual
But those who know her well, comprehend that she wears-
A deceiving facade
Unbeknownst to those who pass her by,
Recognizing her as that woman of intellect who writes for the local newspaper
She forges her pride well
Within her she and all how know her well-
Are well aware
She is afflicted.
