Affiliation To Whose Law

AFFILIATION TO WHOSE LAW If I was law unto myself What would I be? Where would I go? What would I say? Would I in such a way Be free? Or be shown a dark And narrow path, Which would purposely Divert my way? Would it excite me, To greet each day With confidence, That my every deed My every word, would Like a sunshine ray, Light up my being, Console my need? Would I enjoy to grip Reality and face War and love and hate, All on my own, It seems a lonely trip The solitude of being alone! Being a law only onto myself, Would enable to keep the key To live my life, I'd choose to never Have to strife, For precious little time We have, In this fast moving train Insane, Happiness, sorrow and pain Melt into one! But being a solitary soul Could be exploited By one and all, Should I succumb to a World that’s disunited, And steadily begin My downwards fall! What must I do, Live according To my own law, A great many think That this is wrong, To be or not to be, Which decision has The flaw? I don’t want either I keep telling me, The answer becomes clear, Only with His Law Will I be strong!

It's been said that "No man is an island"; people need to interact with each other. Being part of a community helps, especially when we obey both moral and natural law. ~ Warm regards & Hugs Jenny. // paul

No truer word spoken Paul, if only everybody could obey moral and natural laws, how much easier life would be in this chaotic world of our. Thank you for a wonderful comment Paul. Warm regards and hugs, Jenny.

Exactly my friend, With Only His Law Will I Be Strong. Yet Jesus had all that and you remember what we did with Him. It all boils down to Politics and Politics is a shark infested pool. And do you know what happens when sharks have nothing else to hunt? They turn on each other. Great job here. God Bless, JB

Thank-you Gershon for following my train (excuse the pun) of life and thought, exactly as I intended this poem to be- God is the only path to follow! Hugs and warmest wishes Gershon. JENNIFER.

Hi Jennifer, What a deep and thought provoking write. There are many things to ponder in this wellwritten write. I think it would be too much pressure to be a "law" to one's self. Did I tell that I like your pen? Excellent write my friend:-) Alexis

Jennifer, This is an interesting write. Setting on the path to justice through Laws, always problematic through the ages. "We are less than atoms, I say, because the atom obeys the law of its being, whereas we in the insolence of our ignorance deny the law of nature. But I have no argument to address to those who have no faith." -Mahatma Gandhi

Thank you Richard for grasping my train of thought, an apt and thoughtful comment - my poem was from a political and just society as opposed to one that is not answerable to anything or anybody. I then go on to explain that Our Creator who is Omniscient and Omnipotent is the only law to follow, for He created man and gave man the logic to choose, as I chose in the poem! Hugs, Jennifer.

very interesting thoughts imagining self as a law. Yes, let's leave it to the creator and the universe!!

Hi Joseph, I agree that is why I threw out the two flawed one's, there is only one choice ever and that is always His. In my final year of my Biblical studies degree, I did my thesis on the Spirituality of the New Testament - only began and finished my degrees later in life, I feel blessed. Hugs, Jennifer.

Such an interesting poem is this gem, whose law indeed, sometimes we are better off where we are, sometimes not.

I think that I feel very emotional this last month or so, as we are packing up a home in which three generations have lived - we have decided to down size, our home was too big and both our boys now grown up with their families, we feel we are rattling around, so bought a house in a cluster complex - I'm sure I'll be fine once we have settled down. A wonderful comment, thank-you Harry, God Bless. Hugs, Jennifer.

This poem feels deep in thought, Jennifer:If I was law unto myself What would I be? Where would I go? What would I say? Glad to note you found the answer that gives you comfort. Your poem makes the reader pause and think.

Hi Vijay, I think I am rather bewildered still packing, a real emotional rollercoaster as both my parents and my father in law, all stayed with us for the last few years of their lives, and I see and feel their presence everywhere. Anyhow count down, only 13 days left till we leave this beautiful home, but will make a cozy home where we are moving to - not far from where we live now. Thank you Vijay, a very observant comment my friend. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Hi Anne-Lise,I love your "Asta" poem, read and commented on it. Yes it is a very hectic time in our lives my friend. Last night after staying up packing until 10.00p.m, then writing a poem which came to mind, went to bed after midnight and had to be at yoga at 9.30 this morning, feel exhausted. I have such wonderful genuine friends on poetry soup, I have somewhat neglected my nearby friends. I find we bare our souls to each other on the soup, and relax in doing so. Hugs and blessing my dear Sunshine Smile, Jenny.
