Notes About The Poem

Aesthetic Autumn

Aesthetic Autumn

Oh scarlet sunset your red hue,
Vermilion shades with crimson too,

Match my favorite season's shades
O'er woodlands and bright gilded glades

Trees claim rust, orange, brown and gold,
What a stunning sight to behold!

Soft rain combined with wayward wind
Refreshes trees as drops descend.

As dancing, twirling leaves depart
Their susurrate song stills my heart.

awww, yours was a beauty, Connie. I think maybe she had a short winner list. Otherwise, I can't see why this was not on it.

You captured the stunning beauty of Autumn with brilliant shades of colorful imagery (heightened by soft rain), and the graceful movement of falling leaves. An exquisite poem, Connie, I especially the love the rustling sound of your last couplet - I know the song and I love it too.. Superb poetry! Warmest wishes my friend.. ~Susan

Oh how I love the rhyme, flow and imagery. You are a master of nature imagery, you really are - always delightful and 'new' though the topic is past old. Amazing. I haven't a clue about the contest status, but as I've seen others write, 'good for win.' Love ... CayCay

Your imagery is superb it brings autumn right to my door. The dancing twirling leaves as the wind blows gives mind to all the raked piled of leaves the children will be able to play in. Great job.

Thank you Agnes. Enjoy the fall colors. My daughter sent me a video of a drone flying over the changing trees set to music. I love the fall too. : )

Connie, your words match the photo beautifully! These are the sights of fall that I miss most from my childhood home in the Northeast. Those "dancing, twirling leaves" never did last long enough. A wonderful entry for the contest, dear, and I send winning wishes your way! Love, carolyn

Dear Connie … you must be at the stage where you could put together a book with pictures and poems of autumn. Both compliment each other beautifully - thank you once again Connie - Lindsay

I'm so glad to hear she helped you, Connie. I wish I had someone here to fix technical things for ME. I want Netflix upstairs as well as down but I am using my nephew's Netflix and I could only get it when he was here. I wish desperately to buy another mechanism to get it put on upstairs but Joe and I will never figure it out!!

My daughter is a marvel, putting two bookcases together for her sister and helping me connect Dvd player and fixing my phone, helping me download photos etc. She would help you if you lived close. The best thing she did was to put my patio swing together that was a B.day/Mother's day gift. She also took the other rusted one apart to have it taken away. She was only here four days and is leaving soon. My husband really appreciated her help and gave her a really nice birthday gift. I hate to see her leave. : )
