Advice If You Are Anorexic

stop looking in mirrors
nurture your best sides
do things that you love

painting, dancing, roller skating
spend time outdoors
look toward the future

a dangerous internal voice
may be criticizing you
hold up an imaginary stop sign
yell “STOP!”

concentrate on your positives
make a list of them
You should be able to find at least fifty great things
If you are not there yet, strive for ten
Ten positive things about you
Stay away from mean voices and mirrors

Ah, and anorexia is such a killer! You're advice is so right on-target. I'm sure you have helped many a young girl who suffered from poor body image.

You know, I never thought of it that way, but I can see how that is true. My sister-in-law was anorexic, and I can see that what you said explains it. Unfortunately, she was killed instantly in an automobile accident...which, in one way, of thinking might have been a blessing. We loved her very much and miss her.

I doubt they are reading this, but anorexia is one way for them to have control over a life that may be incredibly unhappy, unfortunately.

I am a support, but I have no idea how we can turn this around because it is the one thing they can control, and so they do, for their lives are usually incredibly sad.
