Adventure

The sun is shining bright
A glorious beacon to light my way
It's time to set off

I won't need a plane
No bags, no luggage
Just me and my radiant heart

A journey into the unknown
It's like a gateway
To the age of exploration

From palm trees to the Alps
I'll climb, I'll swim, and I'll sing
On this stage I'm the main attraction

And when the sun finally sets
I'll find a nice tree to sit beneath
To stare up at the stars

The sky is my blanket
And the moon is my pillow
I'm a dreamer but not the only one

When I awake the sky is overcast
With mice dancing on the clouds
Until rain begins to fall

In jubilation I'll dance as well
Until all the forest critters join in
And the rainbow appears

With a cry of glee I'll climb that rainbow
And slide all the way down the other side
But there is no pot of gold

The pot of gold exists in our hearts
So I put gold in other people's hearts
Knowing it'll eventually come back to mine

And as my adventure winds down
I'll listen to the wisdom of the ancient trees
Sitting beneath their leaves awhile

The sun is shining bright
A glorious beacon to light my way
Back home

Well done, Christopher. This would be a fun poem to read to a group.
