Advent Morning Star
ADVENT MORNING STAR
The morning star shines salient and bright
Alone against a colour graded sky
In transient intermission day from night
When worlds half dream, reality yet nigh
The trees - dark silhouettes on indigo
That melts to cerulean, red then gold
Towards the eastern margin brightening slow
To hint at dawn, the daybreak will unfold
In frosted field the shrouded horses stand
As statues still and frozen in quiescence
No wish to raise their heads their faces bland
‘Til tepid sun should hint at incandescence
Train passes by no common world incursion
It’s closed space with internal lumination
The passengers in drowsy introversion
Each a universe of personal fixation
Then at their destinations all will rouse
Domains will coincide, their doors unbar
Will they then open minds, the day espouse
To share their vision, see the morning star
On such a morn in ancient orient sky
A mystic luminance gave sages presage
Of wondrous blessings destined from on high
And One who’d bring to Earth redemption message
