Adrenaline

With one bite, the jaws of life closed in 
More nervous than I ever have been 
Knees quivering as the sweat drips 
Leaking from my palms to my fingertips
My heart is running multiple laps
Beating loudly like hand claps
The truth overwhelms me 
Listening with my eyes closed, afraid to see
