Adjusting To Change
Politicians say things which seem so strange
They tell us we need to adjust to change
The reason America is in this big rut
Congress convenes with their heads up their butt
Meanwhile we try to do what they say
We are adjusting to change, it’s what’s left of our pay
They are overtaxing the middle class
And kissing everyone else’s (you guessed it)
I’m tired and angry, feeling betrayed and upset
I haven’t met an honest politician yet
If he were honest he couldn’t get re-elected
The machine has the winners pre-selected
While they are lining their pockets with gold
We have been brainwashed to do what we’re told
You ask me what’s got my goat?
It’s the choices we have when we go to vote.
