Adjusting To Change

Politicians say things which seem so strange
They tell us we need to adjust to change
The reason America is in this big rut
Congress convenes with their heads up their butt
Meanwhile we try to do what they say
We are adjusting to change, it’s what’s left of our pay
They are overtaxing the middle class
And kissing everyone else’s (you guessed it)
I’m tired and angry, feeling betrayed and upset
I haven’t met an honest politician yet
If he were honest he couldn’t get re-elected
The machine has the winners pre-selected
While they are lining their pockets with gold
We have been brainwashed to do what we’re told
You ask me what’s got my goat?
It’s the choices we have when we go to vote.

Well said Vince! The political machinery must change... it seems that every politician elected gets sucked into special interests and PAGs that lessens their effectiveness... Best wishes, Keith

Vince=Libertarian? Great write man...I don't lean to either side of the imaginary line but I do have a contemptuous distrust for bipartisan politics. Right on, Write on! Steve

Excellent Vince - I wish they would let me adjust their pay and taxes health care and benefits - Big difference between them and us as far as all that goes and if we did as terrible of a job as they do we get fired in a minute - Must be nice to set your own pay and benefits - we sure didn't get no great tax break - God Bless my friend, MJ

Vince, this is one of your all time best, and there have been many...."We are adjusting to change, that's what's left of our pay." Priceless! I gut laughed through the whole poem. Keep 'em comin'...Love, daver

Well this is indeed somewhat true. I think too we need to give the new President a chance. Many seem dead set on hoping he fails. If every politician knew what to do, we would not be in this mess.

If this isn't a winning poem, I'll eat my hat! (Actually,.... that might be the only thing left around here to eat...after they take away all our money!)

I hate to admit-- but I agree-- choices are slim though so what can we do?
