Notes About The Poem

Adieu Until I See You In Heaven - Emotive Write

I know your spirit is finally free when I scattered your ashes yesterday Cancer has taken you away from me solitude is now the price I must pay When I scattered your ashes yesterday I said adieu to the love of my life Solitude is now the price I must pay I’m now a widow, no longer a wife I said adieu to the love of my life I look to heaven and I question why I’m left a widow, no longer a wife as seagulls circle in bright azure sky I look to heaven and I question why cancer has taken you away from me As seagulls circle in bright azure sky I know your spirit is finally free New Poems Only Contest Sponsored by Emile Pinet 16 lines, 10 syllables per line FICTION POEM WRITTEN FOR CONTEST 4/12/18

Thanks Chantelle, it was my hubbies cancer surgery in 2013 that got me writing my first poem since my schooldays. Thankfully he is now well but sadly so many of our friends and family have lost their lives to this cruel disease:-( hugs Jan xx

Congratulations on your number 1 position for this powerful poem. I do agree, when one has deep emotions, they are expressed at both ends of the spectrum, the saddest of sad and the funniest of funny, Happy Sunday xxoo

At em Tiger! So proud of you at top spot. Youre a juggler between humor and being serious. Smart girl. Cannabis oil cures cancer , but you know that. You speak for so many.. I love you Jan. Such a stalwart supporter to me also.

Aww Jannie that is such a sweet comment I try to 'give back' to soup by being as active as I can with reading and commenting but my broken finger has curbed my activity lately lol. I do surprise folk and even myself at switching between humour and serious. They now sell cannabis oil on our Island - i hope I am never in the position I have to try it!:-) hugs jan xx

I'm so lucky Barbara, my husband's cancer surgery was the catalyst for kick starting me to write my first poem back in November 2013. the poem is fictional as he is doing very well but I know sadly many can relate to my words:-( hugs jan xx

This is a really emotional and heatfelt write, a really beautiful one, cancer is one of the worse diseases, may God save everyone from it, my both grandparents, a 9 year old cousin and many other relatives die of cancer, not only it gives you a painful death, but it even destroys your remaining life, after Chemo, you can t walk, do daily task, everything feels salty, your hairs are fallen, and you are victim of many diseases. Good luck and congrats on your poem being number 1 on best new poems
