Adieu
Ne'er say adieu for lines do giveth pain.
For I must wait anew for thee in time
till I am faint and fickle fate doth deign
to stay my grief and right its greatest crime.
End my sad wait and use the telephone.
In anguished mind your lovely face is seen
and I'm much tired of being so alone
adrift at sea without a rudder keen
Let me have thy sweet lips this night
and know our moment's greatest pleasure o'er.
Again come scale with me vast heaven's height
a place where bright celestial angels soar.
Return again, together we'll shed tears.
Forgive, forget, end my sad woeful fears.
