Aderonke

I have written this poem a thousand times
But I kept breaking down the walls
I found beauty in these lines
I kept digging for more.
For what do you give to a woman
who has everything?
Other than a poem
Written in letters of gold
And colour of diamond.

If your star is among those on the skies
Pick it now and reach your peak
I am building a full mirror
For a queen of better light.
If you will be counting blessings
Let me take you to my castle
So you may count mine.

Aderonke, heaven crumbles when you smile
I see them sink into your cheeks
To form deep pools- dimples;
a perfect imperfection.
Aderonke, you are the testimony
From every golden tongue
A lasting healing.
For to touch you, is to touch stars.

I love you
