Addictions
Addictions come in many ways
To the unknowing in a hellish blaze
It starts out slow with sweet surrender
Your mind and body seeking perfect splendor
As time goes on not noticed at first
Your fun has turned into an unquenchable thirst
A fortress of denial with windows of excuses
The door of opportunity long closed and useless
Body racked with pain and a mind filled with guilt
You have torn down what God has built
To tired, too ill and wasting away to nothing
You manage to cry out or just whisper something
God my Father I have given away what you have given
Please dear Jesus save me and help me start livin
The clouds of depression start to slowly rise
And you begin to understand and realize
He has always been there and has never left
Tears of joy running down your face as you wept
He has placed you on a rock of salvation and hope
Without Him you would either be dead or still hooked on dope.
