Addictions
What is addiction to you?
So many reply I got no addictions
Is that true of you?
It’s not for me ~ I have addictions
Facebook is my big distraction
Stealer of my time ~ thats addiction
So many things are addictions not just alcohol drugs,sex,gambling
The lists go on n on
So ~ why do we point the finger at others?
Without first looking inwards at ourselves
A post on Facebook angered me
This is why this poem i wrote
I was on this post by a guy
Sharing a video of homeless dude
Sadly recently passed away
Yeah on streets drug overdose
The guy said he was amazing
Touched me deep in my heart
Lady Comment no drug addict is amazing, not them kinda folk
How dare she judge, condemn
Nobody~ I mean nobody can judge another
I wanted to write if you cant say something positive shut your negative mouth
I didn’t I wrote this instead
I believe thats why suicides rise
People cant cope, looking for hope
But so much judgement
I know ~ once I almost took my life
I was entrapped in a web of hopelessness
An angel in form of a dog
Big brown eyes gazed lovingly at me
High tide, was up to my waist in the sea
Can take you to very spot ~
I have a thing about eyes
These eyes saved my life
Some said I was nuts saying an angel like dog
Way ~ hey really, here to tell the tale
I do still thank God for sending the dog
Dog walked along promenade
In front of me, disappeared
When I reached mum’s door
A divine moment nobody can rob from me
Please be kind, think before you speak~ don’t judge
Let your heart overflow to others
You don’t know whose life you might save.
