Addiction Escape By:Crystol Woods 2023 Note: God is who gave me the strength and courage to seek help for my addiction. Together, He and I sought help. The amazing staff at Lifeline Center and Family Options Providers, gave me the blueprint to escape addiction prison. Suboxone medication and counseling gave me the key to unlock my cell. My family and my faith give me the fortitude to live well outside my bonds. Thank you for doing your part to save my life! God bless you! Sincerely, Crystol Woods 7th year recovering addict
Listen to poem:
[Verse] Fear leaks out my pores stinging as it rolls down running on and on I turn my head around And I see You’re still chasing me So I run on I run on [Verse] Dread crawls up my spine claws reach down my throat crushing me inside until I choke I try to hide to turn aside but I don’t no I don’t [Chorus] I run away then back again I can’t stay but here I am My choices are not made by me anymore since I became yours I’m chained to you I’m bound and gagged I try to scream You pull my strings and I lay down I just lay down [Verse] There’s no way out…only through I see a light shining from you I won’t close my eyes anymore I start swimming to the shore I am safe I am free no one pulls my strings You gave me peace… [Bridge] And you gave me bravery… you gave me hope You gave me the keys you cut my ropes now I have a life I can be proud of because you gave me love! You gave me Love! You gave me love. You gave me love.

Listened to it all the way through. I never realized you were once an addict...you are most obviously a very strong individual by nature...you must be to have escaped the shackles of drug addiction. I am proud to know you, Crystol. Never stop writing...never stop believing...and never stop reading. Knowledge, every good sort of knowledge, whatever the subject...is a beautiful thing. Learning about the wider World about us...is what sets us apart from lesser mortals. :) john
