Addiction. An invisible devil, he looks for an opportunity, a foothold, and starts to grow. He tricks you, taking over your mind, taking over your identity. Your friends and family can see him, but to you, he's invisible, so, you discard your friends. You discard your family, and take on new friends, who support the devil which possessed you. You weaken as he gets stronger. First step: Can you see him? Addiction.

This is such a perfect description of how an addict gives into his demons and in the process alienates everyone who really cares about him/her. The form you used on this was perfect also fast just like addiction, Congrats on your placement

Nicely said, David. Addiction destroys it is so sad. Well done for writing about it.

A sad reality for many. I had a Bible study once with a heroin addict in recovery. He told me he loves heroin. Methadone has helped along with faith

Without knowing personally, I've heard heroin is about the worst and often doesn't end well. Glad he's in recovery. I know faith is a key component in 12-step programs. Luckily, I don't think I've ever had a serious chemical or substance addiction, but I feel, I've had many behavioral type mini-addictions - maybe not the same thing, but I feel there's that insidious denial process.

Such a powerful piece David, there are few lives that aren't touched by people they know with some sort of addiction, sadly its only the addict that cant see they have a problem, excellent ink! hugs Jan xx

David what a great truth you have labelled and given examples of Addiction. It truly is the way you personified it. A very clever and thoughtful piece bringing attention to this evil decease. Thank for sharing this reality for some. God bless you...
