Addicted Love

Addicted,she strove for sobriety.
Afflicted,she cried
Eyes swollen,body itching
For another dose yet.

So I ask,me as a substance
Hey, is it me?
Is it you?
Or is it us?

At me,she looked
Akin, I love you
Leave her,come to me
I have, yet you don't feel like I'm here with you

So,you see, I'm not him you seek
I'm a mirage you're waiting to grab
I will never be real
No matter how fast you drive before I vanish

Your meal, I've garnished
Yet, always will.
But your spoon leads to your heart
Not your mouth

That's why it bleeds
Redirect your thought,love
I'm a friend, I can only be loved
Not coveted
