Across the Sea
Across the Sea
Breakers of exploding water
crash upon the jagged rocks
carrying voices from the past
across the foaming miles
The shores of home
left, long years gone by
our boats of leather black
carried us where seabirds fly.
With utmost haste we left our home
no - time for fond good byes
tears filled our saddened eyes
upon the breeze a sigh.
Standing now in inland home
forever haunted by oceans sound
memories golden, never forgotten
like crashing breakers on this ground.
Far across the surging sea
was a life never to be lost
destined for all time to lie
beyond the realm where
dreams are begotten.
