Form: Other (Pregunta)
The Pregunta is a Spanish poetic form that proposes a question and offers a response.
Basic guidelines:
Usually a collaborative poem
First stanza presents a question (or series of questions)
Second stanza presents an answer while copying the form and structure of the first stanza
Quick note: The first stanza sets the structure for the second half of the poem. Not only does it decide the subject through the question (or questions) it asks, but it also decides the structure and form for the poem.
Collaboration with David Crandall,
Falling for you is so easy to do.
In my most private thoughts and heart I burn
just to feel intimate closeness to you.
And then for just a brief moment I yearn
for the certain answer, "Will you be true?"
Just as easily, I fell for you, too.
Add my thoughts to your fire and feel it burn -
from outside to inside and straight on through.
Erase that brief moment from your concern.
Only to you, shall I always be true.
I frequently sing of your strength and brawn,
seek the security of your embrace
to hold me so tightly until the dawn
before you soar far away without trace.
"Will you be mine?” is the line I have drawn.
.
You light my heart like the sun lights the dawn,
as I gaze upon your beautiful face,
the prettiest the sun has shone upon.
Your place in my life no one can replace.
Trust me fully, and your line will be gone.
