Acrimonious
Someone asked “Are you bitter”...
I answered “The word bitter can not even begin to describe the emotions on the inside”.
The union that I once had
Has now dissipated right before my eyes
And once again..
An enormous fraction of my soul
Has died...
How many times can the heart
Be relived.....then I suddenly reflect
On all of the good times
In a space where we were both happy
And our marriage was doing just fine
That span has been long obliterated
My expectations were far overrated
Believing that you could achieve
The contract of marriage that was so elementary
Oh....I failed to comprehend
We were doomed to the very beginning
Now the seasons have changed
Spring, summer, and Autumn
And still I remain bitter
Because my heart will forever
Be cold as winter
