Acknowledge Fellow Poets

So many great poets here!
What about the new ones, 
who need your hug, eh?
You just might give them the
poetry bug!

I like to seek who's waiting
for my nudge!
To take my time and reply
and get some good, warm
yummy fudge.

My Dad is to blame for all of 
this!
He constantly wondered why
only the big fish got the hits.
He wanted the smaller fish 
raised to a respected dish.

Honestly, I feel the same as he!
There so many empty reply boxes
and also, with replies too few.
Some of you understand clearly,
I AM talking to you!

I'd rather see us an in-gathering
crowd.
Not an In Crowd who back slaps
each other!
Leaving many on lonely outposts
just sitting around.

I myself don't want to play,and
am as skittish as a newbie.
It's no joy to write to walls and I
don't think it's cool or groovy.

I know I choose topics at times
electric.
But am not here to tickle your 
tummy nor stick to forms only 
poetic!

We may just be~ the very last
bastion of free speech.
With Political Correctness running 
the world,more
I want the brakes on PC going to
a loud "screech.'

That goes to the new poets as well. i always go to the new poets and comment on y=their poems and some do not comment back. All they have to do is say Thank You. Have a nice evening my friend. I have gotten NAs on poems that have been POTD or they receive an Honourable Mention. Yes it does feel a bit like high school. Panagiota Romios October 16, 2019 at 8:50 AM Right on! I honestly prefer a short Soupmail to someone that has enough replies for an elephant. A bit of overkill? )) to me it's boring, I avoid poets who never reply. Hello? Can't say thank you at least. I do get surprised at times after reading what I consider a really good poem, but there's not a comment posted. I relate to you very well, and sadly, your best and my best get a thumbs down, yes. It is not encouraging at all. Reminds me of ancient Rome, when the Emperor turned a thumbs down. Alexis Y. October 15, 2019 at 4:53 PM Hi Panagiota, I agree with you 100%. It's important to reach out to new poets and old poets. I'm not on the soup much as used to be. Sometimes I don't get many comments and I'm ok with that. I used to be bothered by it, but not any more. I try to reply to people who leave a comment , but sometimes I don't and it's not intentional. Chris Green October 15, 2019 at 3:54 PM I couldn't agree with you more my friend. I see so many empty comment boxes. Every time I come across one I always leave a comment. I know how it feels to not feel welcomed at a site like this. Many fall into their own little group and I know I have been guilty of this as well, but I do try to seek out new poets and leave something that makes them feel at home. OMG.One demanded I post daily. Said Poet Demanded 34 replies a day per said poets demands. When I was not fast enough, said beast crossed me off said pots followers list. LOL Ego runs BIG here. A great human being here said this. I will keep his name in confidence. " can't they at least say, "Thank you" in a reply? A poem can have 60 reads and no replies, Chris. Who are we? And, they are far from bad Poems. I will not be part of falling over one poet or Poem. I understand that in POTD or contests..still, I keep seeing the same names.its a bit of overkill.
