Acknowledge Fellow Poets

So many great poets here! What about the new ones, who need your hug, eh? You just might give them the poetry bug! I like to seek who's waiting for my nudge! To take my time and reply and get some good, warm yummy fudge. My Dad is to blame for all of this! He constantly wondered why only the big fish got the hits. He wanted the smaller fish raised to a respected dish. Honestly, I feel the same as he! There so many empty reply boxes and also, with replies too few. Some of you understand clearly, I AM talking to you! I'd rather see us an in-gathering crowd. Not an In Crowd who back slaps each other! Leaving many on lonely outposts just sitting around. I myself don't want to play,and am as skittish as a newbie. It's no joy to write to walls and I don't think it's cool or groovy. I know I choose topics at times electric. But am not here to tickle your tummy nor stick to forms only poetic! We may just be~ the very last bastion of free speech. With Political Correctness running the world,more I want the brakes on PC going to a loud "screech.' October 15, 2019

Hello Panagiota Romino, I comment on other poets poetry and do not get a thank you. That goes to the new poets as well. i always go to the new poets and comment on y=their poems and some do not comment back. All they have to do is say Thank You. Have a nice evening my friend.

Darlene! Your love and support of others is well known here. There's many here who don't reply. OK. I try to go to those who do. I don't get collecting comments like butterflies but no reply. So I know who they are and won't read them. It's their choice. Move on. You are a cherished poet here...we love you..Panagiota. Xx

Your last comment rings especially true. There are some who run contests who pick the same handful of poets every time. I have gotten NAs on poems that have been POTD or they receive an Honourable Mention. Yes it does feel a bit like high school.

Right on! I am not playing those games. Even if you win....sorry only the cheerleaders get 20 congratulations. If not you get a handful. The contest runners catch flack, too. Hey, why wasn't I number 1? LOL.maybe we need some high school gear and Pom Poms.oh, bring, bubble gum! You should be very proud of your Poems. Sometimes I feel bad that I don’t have time to read and follow more poets. I try and respond to all who leave comments. I also make an effort to visit those who are kind enough to visit me. I have appreciated your visits. Hugs Rick.

We all have plenty on our plates..just do what you can. I understand you feeling softer to those who visit you. But maybe all can't. I honestly prefer a short Soupmail to someone that has enough replies for an elephant. A bit of overkill? )) to me it's boring, I avoid poets who never reply. Hello? Can't say thank you at least. Cat got their pen? LOL Mom called it "Manners" . Mom had me forever writing Thank you cards, and on a PC? A breeze! Panagiota xx

Hi, Lindsay! I relate to you very well, and sadly, your best and my best get a thumbs down, yes. It is not encouraging at all. Reminds me of ancient Rome, when the Emperor turned a thumbs down. You and I have to give each other a thumbs up then..you, my friend, summed it up in one line "It's not encouraging when there's no response." Soupmail. Panagiota

Hi Panagiota, I agree with you 100%. It's important to reach out to new poets and old poets. I'm not on the soup much as used to be. Sometimes I don't get many comments and I'm ok with that. I used to be bothered by it, but not any more. I try to reply to people who leave a comment , but sometimes I don't and it's not intentional. Thanks for writing such a poem. I couldn't agree with you more my friend. I see so many empty comment boxes. Every time I come across one I always leave a comment. I know how it feels to not feel welcomed at a site like this. Many fall into their own little group and I know I have been guilty of this as well, but I do try to seek out new poets and leave something that makes them feel at home. And like you said, I wish others would do the same.

HAH! There are many here who never reply. That's fine. I dont post to them. Arrogant? OMG.One demanded I post daily. Said Poet Demanded 34 replies a day per said poets demands. When I was not fast enough, said beast crossed me off said pots followers list. LOL Ego runs BIG here. Still learning friend from foe.)))

And I agree 100% with your reply, why can't people say thank you. To me that is arrogant. It's as if they expect people to read them and leave a nice comment because they are someone special. I always do my best to say thank you to everyone who comments on my poetry. Thank you for speaking your thoughts, more need to do this.

Wow, Chris! sending you warm poetic hugs. I really felt afraid to post. A great human being here said this. I will keep his name in confidence. " can't they at least say, "Thank you" in a reply? A poem can have 60 reads and no replies, Chris. Who are we? And, they are far from bad Poems. I will not be part of falling over one poet or Poem. I understand that in POTD or contests..still, I keep seeing the same names.its a bit of overkill. I get the group thing.High School Stuff.I hope we all appreciate each other far more.
