Acid Tears

Shadowed by feelings of dread, self-doubt belittles your worth. Both rejection and abuse have traumatized you since birth. Loneliness fuels the pain of a future fraught with fear. And life's overwhelming weight crushes with a single tear. Eroded by acid tears, hope exists only in dreams. And fantasy's illusion fails to stifle silent screams. Craving eternal relief, you pray that death is the end. For forever's frightening; when you've never known a friend.

A most honest and sobering poem, Emile. I went back to your early work, and chose this one because of the title (great title too.) And would you believe it, it is the polar opposite of your poem posted today, "A Friend of Mine." That was some peculiar karma. Wonderful poem because of it vulnerable yearnings. You really have a good grasp of the human condition. Love always.

Sometimes the abuse will make a person stronger and more loving of things here on earth. Most victims have more to give and see things in a different light. This is a great poem and shows how hard it is at times from abuse. Awesome poem!

this a poem full of angst and hurt.. Ive written a poem about Rape... My heart is saddened with reports of abuse but I admire those victims who spring out standing despite what has been.. Indeed it is hard but one way or another we experience abuse and its challenging on how we"ll go about such... Bless us all.. :)
