Aching Heart

My heart is heavy, burdened with pain,
Aching with the sadness that remains,
Tears fall like raindrops from my eyes,
As I mourn the loss of love and ties.

The emptiness inside me grows,
As memories flood and come in rows,
The laughter, joy, and all we shared,
Now seem like shadows, fleeting and bare.

I try to hold onto hope and light,
But darkness creeps in, stealing the fight,
Leaving me shattered, lost, and alone,
In a world that feels like an unknown.

I know that time will ease the pain,
That life will flow and joy will reign,
But for now, my heart is shattered,
And the pieces can't be easily gathered.

I cling to memories of brighter days,
When love and laughter lit up our ways,
And though those days are gone forever,
I'll cherish them always and endeavor,

To find the strength to carry on,
To live and love and find a new dawn,
For even though my heart is aching,
I know that I can keep on making,

A life that's filled with hope and light,
A life that's worth the daily fight,
And though my heart may ache and break,
I know that I can still find love and make,

A brighter future, one step at a time,
And though it's hard, I'll make the climb,
For though my heart may be in pain,
I know that love will heal and reign.
