Acceptance Is the Key For Being Truly You and Me

Individuality
Is the most important key
For being truly who you are
You can help to raise the bar
Of making others realize
There's no reason to disguise
The person they are meant to be
Letting their light shine so free
Being different from the rest
Puts them on a special quest
To prove that different can be fine
we need to erase the line
Between normal and unique
When happiness is all they seek
Labels should never be heard
Nicer more descriptive words
Can be found if we just look
Everybody's like a book
No two are ever alike
This nonsense needs to take a hike
Letting personalities
Fly and soar with dignity
No more words of indiscretion
We all need to learn a lesson
This world is a melting pot
And it really takes a lot
Of unique and different types
To make it past all the hype
That is getting way to loud
If your not part of the crowd
Looking and acting the same
With attitude hot as a flame
Then you will not be accepted
Tossed aside you are rejected
You just want to be connected
But its hard when your selected
To be put down by the way
You live your life everyday

Personally, as someone "unique" i never fit in with the crowds, and i was always the "odd one out", but nowadays, I surround myself with people who accept, and even love that fact about me, and I am so grateful for that fact. But great message, and great write. :)
