Acceptance

You’ve known darkness for so long, You’ve lost all memory of light— Been fighting for so many years, You can’t recall the sound of peace So used to life’s hard, ugly edges, Forgetting all its gentle curves, So used to life as just surviving, You can't remember how to live So used to being by yourself, You find it suspect that I’m yours— That what we have is real and true, And you won't have to be alone.
