Acceptance

My heart aches from withdrawal
As the rush of dreams stops coursing through me
Continuously slowing
Until only a quiet stillness remains
The silence is foreign
Reality settles softly into the last corners of my mind
Acceptance
My last breath is drawn
Then releases as the whisper of your name.
I relinquish
From holding tightly to hopes
Of you and I
