Ab-Zorba-Ing Classic

I can’t look away though his eyes ride every which way.
They slip and slide through every page
— rhythmically dancing with his story aflame.

He pushes and pulls, whipping his master
with his mind — tempting him to consume the widow,
who releases her black widow hair, drawing him
into her lair — the boss puts the fire out.

Now I must say, I don’t know if he gives way.
I haven’t run the gamut of this tale. I can’t look away
from this poetic delight. He’s seedy, this Zorba the Greek.

Saw the film but not read the book, love the scene at the end where they just dance it off. Love the tune too. Tom

Interesting!! What you've written, Kim, sure sounds different from the movie I saw back in the day. Anthony Quinn played Zorba as salt-of-the-earth--but somehow suave nonetheless. :) gw
