Absolved of Faith
The allowance of possibilities in the absence of proof
Gained from other than my own eyes,
Which can be fooled.
As a child I didn't recognize,
Slight of hand, special effects, and perspectives of light.
I didn't care because I needed love and loved fairy tales.
I am left with the allowance of possibilities.
And my infinite ignorance of all but smell, touch, taste, sight
And sound is not always sound but my ears ringing.
Even my senses, my truthful advisors have changed.
As I've hated olives, onions, peppers and soft reeking cheese
I now eat wholeheartedly
Except peppers which now hate me.
I still need love and love fairy tales
Though now,
I have one and don't believe in the other.
That could change.
