Absentee

A flaming red sun cast purple
Against the foggy morn.
A pale gray sky now awakened
By sunlight and adorned

The symphony in the valley
Rises swiftly 'pon cool air
Unmatched by Mockingbird's singing
Then Crows take up their dare

Back and forth the melodies sound
They entertain one soul
While most run and race about life
Trying to gain control

The bright illuminance shines forth
As the sun tops the trees
Another day has begun its
March, night an absentee

Very beautiful, Sara. day and night both have their qualities. And in this one, it's night that needs to disappear and let daylight shine.

Dear Sara, We are blessed to have so many hours of sunlight now. After June 21, they will slowly slip away and night will make its presence known more often. Awesome write! Love, carolyn
