Absence From Life

Each and every corner
Compliments, being thrown around
A soccer ball being kicked

 I am a basketball,
Waiting to be shot In a basket
Not normal

A writer I am, not as good
as Jacqueline Woodson
Writing stories that turn into poems
Poems that turn into memories

 Memories locked inside my brain,
A door with no key
Trapped in forever
Waiting to be released

 The moment everything moves
Memories let out of the jail cell
Desperate to seek change
One speck impacts the world

 Memories coming back,
Then the turtle won the race
Being congratulated
Being written down
