Abortion

How much more are we willing to lose?
Maybe it will just stop with the right to choose.

Have you thought of that child who got raped in the park?
Imagine her pain each night after dark.

Do you know a pregnant mother with young kids at home?
What if a complication suddenly left them alone?

How would they live and where would they go?
Before you pass judgement, there are facts you should know.

What if development does not go as planned?
Should both a mother and child die, because abortion is banned?

Do the wants of the many outweigh the needs of the few?
What if this was your mother or child, then what would you do?

I believe all life is precious, and every breath deserves a voice.
But God gave us free will, and with that comes choice.

Should the decisions of others be controlled by you or me?
Right or wrong is up to God, and always will be.

Outstanding piece inspired by grace. May we not misuse grace of living on through child bearing by disallowing the one that could carry on our names

i see some logic in the opinions here...mothers are more likely to abuse their children than the fathers. Google "Mothers are more likely to abuse children than fathers. Fact?" i would also support dire consequences for child abusers...

The poem is written clearly to make us understand the subject, As a male, I can neither praise nor criticize abortion, but carrying a baby and delivering it is called for a woman her second birth.

It comes down to personal choice

Well said Mark, it is absolutely terrifying what's happening right now with abortion laws. There should always be a choice (a safe one) a woman's body is her own to choose, with no many circumstances in play, those judging never know the whole story (not that they are entitled to it). Excellent poem.

I agree that we should all be mindful when making a choice that evolves the lives of others. Thanks for sharing your insightful views, Mark. Bill

I believe that if it’s about a woman’s body it should be her choice

I've always found it hypocritical that those who are the first to pass judgement are the ones who could easily be judged as the biggest hypocrites. I'm on the same page, Mark.

I think that most republicans think that everyone uses abortion for birth control. Unfortunately that’s not always the case

Wow, Mark, a topic i feel ignorance with. but yes surely a woman has a right to their own opinion about their own body. Also i feel men should keep out of any decision making, too much 'How Righteous thou art' when calling upon so called mob intelligence, and a system that tries making women second class citizens.

Well said Mark! What’s next indeed, undoubtedly contraception, then education, an effective trifecta for subjugation. A woman’s right to choose threw open the doors for other freedoms for women, from contraception, to occupation, to acquiring credit without a man’s permission. The genie does not want to go back in the bottle! Thank you for this dear neighbour, love from one stunned Canuck. xomo

Well I certainly believe it should always be a woman’s choice Mark, unfortunately there are terrible circumstances of (rape pregnancy) that occur from time to time, how on earth can anyone other than the victim make the decision that is right for her, great poem, cheers David

Absolutely, who are we to tell women what to do with their own bodies. What’s next? Outlawing condoms

well said, mark! only a woman should be allowed to decide what happens to her body - it is certainly not the government's business...

Mark, this is such a fine expression of your concerns in this abortion debate. I couldn't agree with you more! Those who speak the loudest have no horse in the race. I keep repeating that the penis is fundamental to reproduction, but they dare not try to regulate it, in favor of assaulting a woman's womb and her right to choose! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I understand both sides of this coin. But it comes right down to personal choice, at least that's what I believe. Thanks Milt!
