ABORT! ABORT!

I read the signs
Like printed words:
You aren’t mine,
You’re just a flirt,
We don’t align,
Our quatrains hurt
In seven lines.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

I love your succinct seven line poem that hits at incompatibility like a dart striking a board. To be a flirt, not to commit, and thus no harmony of purpose conveyed in seven revealing lines that poetically catch couple misalignment. An excellent posting!

What a clever, compact poem. The abrupt “ABORT! ABORT!” and the self-aware seven-line structure perfectly enact a relationship that cannot settle into harmony; “Our quatrains hurt / In seven lines” is especially sharp and memorable.
