Abide With Me, Jesus
In shadows deep where sorrows creep,
I call to You in whispered plea,
O gentle light, my heart's delight,
Abide with me, dear Jesus, be.
Through stormy nights and trials fierce,
When hope seems lost like distant stars,
Your love my shield; Your grace revealed,
Will guide me past these worldly scars.
When burdens weigh and fears invade,
And darkness veils the path I tread,
With every breath I seek Your rest—
Abide with me; let courage spread.
In quiet moments ‘neath the trees,
Where nature sings in soft refrain,
Your presence stills each anxious thought—
A balm that heals all of my pain.
As seasons turn and rivers flow,
Through joy and grief Your hand will lead;
In every tear and silent prayer—
Abide with me; fulfill this need.
So here I stand in faith’s embrace,
With open heart to welcome Thee.
My Savior kind—forever bind:
In love's sweet song abide with me.
