Abandoned

Beneath a lamppost on a deserted street A young girl nervously taps her feet The sidewalk heaves;unsteady in her step Trembling, she softly wept Bleak and dark the evening sky No sign or hope for a kind passer-by; Orphaned, a cast off, unfit to be kept Trembling, she softly wept Phantom shadows transform into stalkers on the prowl She shudders by the sound of a screeching owl; A child forsaken, a destiny of loss and neglect Trembling, she softly wept. This is deeply tragic and heart-wrenching. But it gives a glimpse of a very real world for some children. Thank you for sharing this with us. a 7+

Moving and powerful it is as though one stands beside this unfortunate girl that has been thrown to the vultures of sex to be devoured! God have mercy! A fantastic poem! A 7 my dear Paulette many times over!

Demetrios, yes, God have mercy on those young girls, somewhere out there, lost to the mire of the sex traffic trade....and "thank you" for the 7!

These days she would be snatched up and sold as a sex slave. This is a very sick world, Paulette. The poem is very sad.
