Abandoned - 2nd Place
Crying curtains, weeping windows;
Chasing moments by the shadows;
The memories of yesterday
were left to fade in skies of gray.
Empty rooms and dirty doors;
Moss grows fat on filthy floors;
Deafening sound of emptiness
echoes the hymn of loneliness.
How can one not remember
the happy moments shared together
on a house once called a home,
but now they all have gone to roam?
Lonely heart of an orphaned love
longs for grace from up above.
May the hearts faded for long
come back like echo in a song.
