Aaru and Bapu
Aaru: Bapu, why do you always wear white clothes?
Gandhi: White feels cool, like gentle morning mist in spring. It reminds me to be simple, like fresh green grass after rain and sun.
Aaru: Did the police put you in jail?
Gandhi: Yes, little one. Sometimes under the heavy summer sun, behind hard stone walls, I waited and hoped for freedom, listening to the sound of wind in the tall trees outside.
Aaru: Weren’t you scared when you were in jail?
Gandhi: The dark nights in jail sometimes felt like monsoon storms, but even then, a patch of blue sky after rain or a bird’s song brought me hope.
Aaru: What is your favourite word, Bapu?
Gandhi: My favourites are Truth, Non-violence, and Caring for Everyone. They are like sunlight on autumn leaves, warming every heart, even when the air grows chill.
Aaru: Can you teach me something important?
Gandhi: Be gentle, as a soft breeze in springtime. Love everyone, like trees share their shade in summer. Stand up for what’s right, the way new flowers push through cool winter earth.
Aaru: Will you walk with me, Bapu?
Gandhi: Yes, Aaru. Let’s walk together, through rustling leaves and soft rains, and make the whole world bloom with kindness in every season.
