A Year Like No Other

Nearly at the end of the year
so much has happened in this time
it makes one to truly reflect
about life and why it should rhyme

So many restrictions had to face
can't do this and can't do that
keep one's distance from others
making sure no stranger you'll chat

But have to think on positivity
look deep inside find some light
it can't be all bad surely NO!
learn to be content peaceably bright

This pandemic has sent us off guard
wondering when it will reach an end
at any moment one can catch it
but live in hope, a fix is round the bend

Now a vaccine is coming sometime soon
there is sun shining over the rainbow
but never forget so many have suffered
be thankful you're alive, be simply aglow

(I've written this looking on my reflections on the last year, a year like no other and my experience of it.)

Hi Jo, Pleased you're all well, we're well here, the hospital called yesterday and the PSA test is down to 0.3 so praise God! Hope you're having a nice day, blessings always, Gordon

Yes , we must be grateful and thankful we are alive - Quite right Gordon - and how many more will still go, it makes my heart so sore. Over 300,000-00 deaths in America alone, but were not led by their leader, confusion reigned, a tragic situation. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Thanks again Jenny, indeed they are dangerous days we are living in, what's the numbers in South Africa in comparison with the U.S.? Hope you're looking forward to Christmas despite the dangers with covid . Hugs and blessings,Gordon

Yes! This is a year we shall all remember. The year when something unseen by the human eye humbled all of mankind. Hopefully we have all learned some valuable life lessons. Love, kindness and consideration for all of humanity ~ Elaine

Its certainly been a strange year for us all Gordon and hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel. It's certainly brought out the best in folk, nurses, doctors, care home nurses, captain Tom, I could go on. Im hoping folk don't get stupid at Christmas because we'll be back to lockdown. The vaccine is coming but its many months down the road. Hope you're well. Tom
